When did Sashiko start?

Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery style which dates back to the Edo period (1615 – 1868). It was mostly used by the working class farming and fishing families as to make stronger more practical workwear. Used now on some sneakers, it provide more solidity through the stitches and usually shows a higher quality finished product than regular ones.

When did dunks get so popular?

Dunk became very popular after the 90's, firstly through the Skateboard community. They were wearing them to skate in the street and became a symbol.
